about

All sounds were improvised by Matt Muirhead and McKenzie Ditter, using their handmade mbiras, mboura (mbira/tamboura combo), a synth-slinkie, and the occasional analog "Little Bits" synthesizers. Instruments were amplified through a homemade wooden Soundboard embedded with piezos. All rhythms, beats, and ocean-like sounds were created through hand-to-Soundboard contact. Saxophonist Marc Williams can be heard on track 8- "Ringlight." The babbling of Stony Run Creek runs throughout the album and was recorded on location while the duo played acoustically.
